Q?P.P!

{January 28, 2008}   The Question of the Glass

Is the glass half empty or half full?

Think.

It depends.

If the glass was filled to the top and then drunk half down or poured half out, then the glass is half empty.

If the glass was only filled halfway to begin with, then the glass is half full.

Thank you for your time.

Amanda says:

I think its both. How you look at is depends on what mood you are in at that moment.

kaykays says:

My point is that the whole idea that it depends on your mood only matters in the sense of determining someone’s mood or psychological way of thinking. But in logical, practical terms, if you were to have an actual glass (not the metaphorical glass) in front of you, then it straight up depends. If it was filled halfway, then it is technically, half full. But, if it had been filled full and then half poured out or half drunk, then it is technically, half empty. Two entirely different situations, to say it was half empty when it was only other half full, by my logic, would be an incorrect statement.
