All of these theories are making a great deal of sense to me right now. The idea that time is not linear and part of something closer to an eternal now explains how psychics could exist and gut instinct and how a lot of somewhat unexplainable happenings are possible (like past life regressions and the notion of reincarnation, it makes sense if it's all just part of an eternal now). However, if there is an eternal now than choice and will are illusions and everything is predetermined, and this is against my beliefs in free will and choice, which can be powerful tools when used correctly.

Einstein showed that time is directly tied to space (spacetime) and this means that any distortion to space is there with time. We see the universe as 3-dimensional, so you can move alone a length, a width or a height and navigate through space. Who's to say that with the proper 'navigation' you can't do the same with time? I personally believe that the linear aspect of it is something that we created because our biology works in a cause-effect way (sex causes children, children get bigger as time move forwards, etc).

That is a very interesting theory. I've never heard of it before, I'll have to go read up. ;} Thanks for the commentary!

Hi,
Another way to look at this may be use the "Eternal Now" idea. Lets say that time does not exist, but is a consequence of movement in space. The Eternal Now idea means that everything that has ever happenned or will happen has in fact already happenned "now". If (if) this model is closer to the reality than our more common linear models, then it may be more accurate to say that rather than us catching a glimpse of some future event, it may just as well be ourselves catching a glimpse of ouselves at a different "place" in the Eternal Now. Who knows - just ideas.
Peace,
Jon
